Please try the following DHCP-Server http://www.softcab.com/dhcp-server/index.php

The first start on Vista will activate UAC, please allow to proceed. After installation nothing happens. Start the App with Start / Programs / TinyDHCP and find the handshake symbol in the tray - right click - configuration:

Leave the "unknown" page empty (Ask me) - this means the server will pop up a message for every request and ask you.

To work with the AMI without becoming disturbed at every reboot install the AMI with a fixed answer e.g.:

Make sure your PC has a IP-address in the same subnet (e.g. 192.168.0.10). Now you are done (this works instantly, without rebooting your PC).

Let us restart the AMI device and look at the DBGU serial port: 

 

This will work even if you directly connect the AMI board and your PC (without a hub / switch) with a crossover OR with a 1:1 Ethernet cable to your like - because the AMI is Auto-MDI capable.
